Organize Florida is launching a campaign to more than double our membership, building our power to raise the voices of everyday Floridians in the fight for social, economic, and racial justice. Team members in campaign jobs are on the front lines of this work, recruiting new members to make Florida a better state for everyone who lives here. Even more than money, campaign jobs team members recruit people to increase our progressive base around the state that we’ll mobilize people for phone banks, door knocks, marches, rallies, testimonies before legislative committees, and much more.
Fundraising: Campaign job team members are responsible for effectively and efficiently collecting contributions and donations for the organization through contacting supporters and soliciting donations. Because this is a non-profit job, we rely on the generosity of our members for our budget and political power. Campaign job team members raise awareness of campaigns, identify new supporters, and open up an opportunity for Organize Florida to hear feedback from our statewide membership base.
Establishing a positive rapport: Campaign job team members are the front lines of our fieldwork, and in some cases, one of the only face to face connections between Organize Florida and our many members. As such, team members in this non-profit job are responsible for maintaining a professional, positive, and healthy rapport during each interaction. Campaign job team members must be knowledgeable about our work, and provide honest answers for any questions that arise. Additionally, team members in the campaign job are responsible for accurately recording the results of every interaction, and report daily numbers to their team leaders.
Maintaining a healthy work environment: Campaign job team members are responsible for helping to maintain a healthy, inclusive, and positive work environment. Organize Florida offices are meant to be an open and affirming workplace, and the campaign job team members are expected to maintain positive, inclusive, and open-minded attitudes.
Strong communication skills, work ethic, the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Campaign job team members must be able to work within a team, receive feedback, and adapt to rapidly changing political and programmatic landscapes.
Previous canvassing, sales, non profit job, or political campaign job experience is a plus.
Newly hired canvassers will work closely with the Team Leaders and the Outreach Director to learn how to canvass and fine-tune their skills in outreach. Daily trainings are held to constantly build the skills of outreach workers.
Hourly rate of $15 per hour.
