Activist Job Summary

The activist job with One Pennsylvania is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door for Canvass Job opportunities. One Pennsylvania is launching a campaign to build our membership base, building our power to raise the voices of everyday Pennsylvanians in the fight for economic justice and political participation. We educate and mobilize our neighbors to become informed and active voters. We hold politicians accountable relentlessly. Activist Job Responsibilities

  • FundraisingActivist job team members are responsible for effectively and efficiently collecting contributions and donations for the organization through contacting supporters and soliciting donations. Because this is a non-profit job, we rely on the generosity of our members for our budget and political power. Campaign job team members raise awareness of campaigns, identify new supporters, and open up an opportunity for MRA to hear feedback from our membership base.

  • Establishing a positive rapport: Activist job team members are the front lines of our field work, and in some cases, one of the only face to face connections between One Pennsylvania and our members.  As such, team members in this non-profit job are responsible for maintaining a professional, positive, and healthy rapport during each interaction. Activist job team members must be knowledgeable about our work, and provide honest answers to any questions that arise. Additionally, team members in the activist job are responsible for accurately recording the results of every interaction, and report daily numbers to their team leaders.

  • Maintaining a healthy work environment: Activist job team members are responsible for helping to maintain a healthy, inclusive, and positive work environment. One Pennsylvania offices are meant to be an open and affirming workplace, and the campaign job team members are expected to maintain positive, inclusive, and open-minded attitudes.

Activist Job Qualifications

Activist job qualifications include:
  • Strong communication skills, work ethic, the ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Activist job team members must be able to work within a team, receive feedback, and adapt to rapidly changing political and programmatic landscapes.

  • Previous canvassing, sales, non profit job, or political campaign job experience is a plus.

  • Newly hired canvassers will work closely with the Team Leaders and the Canvass Director to learn how to canvass and fine tune their skills in outreach. Daily trainings are held to constantly build the skills of outreach workers.

Activist Job Pay and Benefits

  • Tuesday through Saturday, 37 hours per week;

  • Hourly rate of $15 per hour;

  • Benefits available after 3 months of employment.
