About Center for Popular Democracy Action

VOCAL-NY is a community organization dedicated to ending the failed drug war, mass incarceration, homelessness and AIDS epidemic here in New York State. We do this by building a low-income people’s movement of New Yorkers directly impacted to take action demanding our politicians enact policies that will bring justice and equity to our communities. We have a almost 20 year history of moving thousands of people to action, building strong community leaders, and winning dozens of city and state laws that have improved, and even saved the lives, of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.
